Who’s next for Jean Silva after Diego Lopes loss at Noche UFC?

MMA Junkie’s Mike Bohn plays matchmaker and looks ahead to what makes sense for Jean Silva in this edition of “Sean Shelby’s Shoes.”

Jean Silva brought the fight to Diego Lopes at UFC Fight Night 259 and battled through difficult moments, but it wasn’t enough in the end.

Silva (16-3 MMA, 5-1 UFC) survived a rough first round with Lopes (27-7 MMA, 6-2 UFC) on Saturday at Noche UFC at Frost Bank Arena in San Antonio, Texas, but after shifting momentum back on his side in the second, walked into a spinning elbow that changed everything and led to a TKO loss.

It was the first time Silva has tasted defeat in his octagon career, and now his resolve will be tested to see how he can bounce back in the featherweight division. There’s no shortage of entertainment on the table with his style, but can it get him to the top?

What should be next for “Lord” after the defeat? Watch the video above for thoughts and analysis on Silva’s future after UFC Fight Night 259.
