B Sai Sudharsan has largely had a Test debut to forget for India against England at Headingley, after being dismissed for a four-ball duck in the first innings and then getting out for a 48-ball 30 for

In a video posted by broadcasters Sony Sports Network, the Indian cricketer can be seen visualising with his helmet on. Sai Sudharsan is seen lifting the ball and raising it in front of his eyes, then he moves it sideways as his eyes track its path. Then after holding the ball in front of his eyes for a few seconds, he drops the ball.

In the video, Sai Sudharsan can also be seen taking copious notes in a book while still wearing his helmet.

The clip earned Sai Sudharsan admiration from Commonwealth Games medallist Tejaswin Shankar who wrote on X: “If you can’t see it you can’t achieve it! Beautiful behind the scenes visuals and takeaway for all aspiring athletes!”

Sai Sudharsan has previously spoken about the importance of visualisation for his batting.

“In terms of preparation, I feel that the most important thing for me is visualisation and putting in hard work in practice. I try and see what the bowler is doing and then take tactical advantages from the bowler. I first try out things in the nets, whether it is possible to do it against a particular bowler. I visualise it, then I go and try it in the match,” he had said during a JioHotstar PressRoom interaction with media in the recent Indian Premier League season.

Sai Sudharsan has also been caught by broadcasters spending plenty of time next to the pitch before games practising his bat swing among other things. Not surprisingly then, he earned the Orange Cap in IPL 2025 thanks to scoring 759 runs in 15 matches at an average of 54.21. The runs were scored at a strike rate of 156.17.
