Miami Dolphins quarterback Tua Tagovailoa gave significant praise to Buffalo Bills passer Josh Allen ahead of a Week 3 matchup between the AFC East rivals.
“Dude, he’s top-tier,” Tagovailoa said Tuesday, per ESPN’s Marcel Louis-Jacques. “If it’s not with his arm it’s with his legs — that dude can do anything he wants.”
“I can’t do half of what he does in terms of running the ball … It’s gonna be fun to get to see him, get to play him again,” he added.
Allen has routinely utilized his legs to make plays throughout his career, rushing for at least 500 yards in six of his first seven seasons. He picked up 531 yards on the ground in 2024, finding the end zone 12 times as a runner.
Tagovailoa has operated from within the pocket during his Dolphins tenure, amassing just 437 career rush yards.
Allen is still showcasing his dual-threat capabilities this season, rushing for 89 yards in his first two games. He’s also completed 66.2 percent of his throws for 542 yards and two touchdowns without getting picked off.
Meanwhile, Tagovailoa has struggled to open the year. Despite completing 72.7 percent of his throws to start his 2025 campaign, he’s recorded 429 pass yards and three touchdowns compared to three interceptions. Miami also owns a record of 0-2.
The two quarterbacks have faced off nine times during their respective careers, with Allen’s Bills winning eight of the matchups.
Their next meeting will occur on Thursday, with kickoff at 8:15 p.m. ET.
