A future in Turkey for Mbaye Diagne? Currently a free agent, the Senegalese striker could be on his way back to European football after a stint with Al-Qadsiah and Neom SC in Saudi Arabia.
Despite a successful season in which he netted 14 goals and provided 5 assists in 22 Saudi First Division matches, the 33-year-old center-forward was not retained. The club, newly promoted to the Saudi Pro League, chose not to renew his contract.
According to information from Amida Haber, the Dakar native is being tracked by Amedspor, a Turkish second-division club. Negotiations are ongoing, but the player’s salary demands appear to be a stumbling block in finalizing the transfer.
If he signs with Amedspor, the former Juventus striker will play for his fourth club in Turkey after stints with Kasimpasa (2018-2019), Galatasaray (2019-2022), and Karagümrük (2022-2023).
