Everyone has July 4 marked on their calendars, but what about June 27? That’s when REI’s massive Fourth of July sale starts, with the bargain blowout runing all the way through the holiday and ending on July 7. If you’re like us and you love to save money on expensive outdoor gear, you don’t want to miss this firecracker of a gear sale. There are deals on coolers, tents, waterproof jackets, running shoes, kayaks, and anything else you might need for your summer adventures.

Bote Breeze Aero BLOOM Inflatable Paddle Board with Paddle – 11’6″

    $479 ($799)

One of the best deals we found from REI’s Fourth of July sale? Forty percent off this Bote bundle, which includes an ultra-stable, 11’6” inflatable SUP, the requisite pump, an adjustable paddle, easily removable fin, handy repair kit, and a durable, padded backpack for comfortable carrying. If you’ve been thinking about getting into stand-up paddleboarding but have been put off by the price of admission, now’s a great time to dip your toes in the water without walloping your wallet.

Bote Breeze Aero BLOOM Inflatable Paddle Board with Paddle – 10’6”

    $479 ($799)

This Bote bundle is exactly the same as the last one, but includes the 10’6” paddleboard. The smaller size is more agile on the water and more compact when stored. Luckily, the discount doesn’t diminish when you drop to the smaller paddleboard, so you can still save 40 percent.

    Cannondale Habit 4 Mountain Bike

    $1,839 ($2,300)

New to mountain biking? Be warned: Cannondale’s Habit 4 is habit-forming. You’ll have so much fun that you’ll become chemically dependent on singletrack-sourced endorphins. This Cannondale trail crusher features affordable-yet-capable components like a Shimano Deore drivetrain, RockShox suspension, and a TranzX dropper post. Yes, the retail price of $2,300 is steep, but compared to its competitors, that’s an absolute bargain. And speaking of bargains, this 12-speed steed is now discounted by almost 20 percent, so you can save hundreds.

Yeti Gear: 20% Off for REI Co-op Members

REI’s sales events always make us realize the value of becoming a member of the Co-op. During the sale, members can score 20 percent off one full-priced Yeti item, which translates to serious savings on best-in-class gear. A few of our favorite Yeti picks are below:

    Yeti Roadie 60 Wheeled Cooler

    $380 ($475)

Rugged wheels and a telescoping handle let you roll this rotomolded cooler to wherever the party happens to be, all while keeping your grub and beverages crispy and cold. This top-of-the-line Roadie is normally $475, but it’s $380 for members during the Fourth of July sale.

    Yeti Panga 100L Waterproof Duffel

    $320 ($400)

Yeti’s Panga duffels are over-engineered and built for expedition use, rafting trips, and any adventure into precipitation-prone environments. We’re huge fans of these waterproof duffels, as they’re some of best on the market. They don’t come cheap, but you get what you pay for, and during the sale REI members can score 20 percent off.

Yeti LoadOut GoBox 60 Gear Case

    $240 ($300)

Perfect for storing gear in your garage or organizing essentials on a camping trip, the LoadOut GoBox boasts organization features like a removable cargo tray, divider, and zippered compartments integrated into the lid itself. The cargo hauler is also fully submersible and extremely durable, making it an ideal overlanding companion. Again, this is a premium product with a price to match, but Co-op members can save 20 percent during this summer sale.

    25% Off All Chacos Sandals

    Shop All Chacos

Chaco’s are a critical piece of any outdoor enthusiast’s summer wardrobe—that’s just a fact. The iconic, adventure-ready sandals are ready for everything from river rafting and backpacking to casual hikes, everyday wear, and post-adventure parking lot beers. Below are a few of our favorite Chaco styles, or you can shop the entire sale here.

    Chaco Rapid Pro

    $97 ($130)

Chaco teamed up with the outsole experts at Vibram on the Rapid Pro collection. These sandals feature the Chaco webbing straps we know and love, but with grippy Vibram lugs. If you’re often scrambling in sandals or splashing across slippery river rock, this line’s got your name on it.

    Chaco Classic

    $77 ($105)

Sometimes, you just can’t beat the classics. Chaco’s most supportive sandals, the tried-and-true Classic line is durable, comfortable, and ready for any adventure you are. If you’re considering your first pair of Chacos, or replacing a well-loved pair that’s beyond repair, Classics are the way to go.

    Chaco Cloud for

    $97 ($130)

The Cloud line is similar to the Classics, but they’re more comfy thanks to a built-in layer of softer, cloud-like polyurethane. If you’re on your feet for long periods of time, floating on a pair of Clouds can be a smart move.

    20% Off All Oru Kayaks

    Shop All Oru Kayaks

Oru’s origami-like, foldable kayaks shook up the paddle world when they launched on Kickstarter back in 2012, and ever since, they’ve become a go-to for keen paddlers who love to travel or have limited storage space at home. The Oru fleet and accessories are now on sale for 20 percent off, making it a great time to plan your maiden voyage.

    white kayak

    Oru Lake Kayak

    $399 ($499)

The most affordable Oru kayak, the Lake is a fun, entry-level option that’s a fantastic way to test the waters and see if portable paddling is for you. It’s nine feet long, beginner-friendly, and best-suited for flatwater.

    Oru Bay ST Kayak 12’3”

    $1,199 ($1,499)

On the water, the Bay ST is a fast paddler that can handle open-ocean kayaking. The closed cockpit is compatible with a spray skirt if you do decide to venture into less placid lakes, lagoons, bays, and beyond. The 12-foot-long kayak also only weighs 26 pounds and folds up into a portable, packable, suitcase-sized bundle.

    Oru Haven TT

    $1,599 ($1,999)

Paddle for two? The Haven TT is 16 feet long and sits two kayakers comfortably for tandem adventures. It only weighs 41 pounds—about half the heft of a standard tandem kayak—and packs down small enough that you can stash it in your closet or toss it in the trunk of a hatchback or sedan.

8 Even Deeper Deals From The REI Outlet

One of the best aspects of the Fourth of July sale is that outlet inventory is discounted even deeper this week. You can browse the entire outlet here, and below, you’ll find eight more deals from the outlet hand-selected by our gear team.

Before we dive into the outlet scores that caught our eye, know this: REI members can score an extra $20 off outlet purchases over $100 from July 4th through July 7th by using the code OUT4JUL25 at checkout.

    red and white lantern

    Black Diamond Apollo Lantern

    $52 ($70)

Light up your campground in style with Black Diamond’s nifty Apollo Lantern. The lantern runs on AA batteries or a built-in, rechargeable lithium-ion battery, and it even features an output to charge electronics at camp, too. The versatile camp lantern has both fold-out legs and a metal hang loop, and the light itself can dim or pulse in strobe mode, so you’ve got a ton of illumination options on deck. Our favorite aspect is the frosted diffuser, which casts a warm, welcome glow.

Big Agnes Tiger Wall 2 Platinum Tent

    $486 ($649)

The only thing better than saving money on gear? Saving weight while backpacking. During REI’s Fourth of July sale, you can do both, saving over $150 on Big Agnes’ ultralight Tiger Wall 2 Platinum tent. Thanks to featherweight nylon ripstop, gossamer polyester mesh, and minimalistic DAC poles, the Tiger Wall 2 Platinum clocks in with a sub-two-pound minimum trail weight. However, it’s also understandably expensive, making it a hard pill to swallow for backpackers on a budget. While it’s by no means cheap right now, it’s definitely cheaper than usual, making it a more reasonable expense for backpackers looking to crush trails this summer.

Black Diamond Men’s Highline Stretch Shell

    $276 ($400)

Black Diamond’s highly rated Highline Stretch Shell ticks all the boxes we’re looking for in a summer rain jacket. It’s lightweight and packable, fully waterproof thanks to a three-layer BD.dry membrane, kitted with the requisite pit zips and pockets, and it’s comfy and stretchy to boot. Now on sale for over a hundred bucks off, this deal’s worth jumping on.

Black Diamond Women’s Highline Stretch Shell

    $276 ($400)

The women’s version of the Highline is also on sale. It features the same well-executed feature set and elasticized, waterproof nylon fabric, but cut in a women’s silhouette.

    Yakima SkyRise HD Small Tent

    $1,500 ($1,999)

If you’ve been in the market for a rooftop tent, you already know they don’t come cheap. REI’s Fourth of July sale is a stellar opportunity to save hundreds when you invest in a Yakima SkyRise rooftop tent. The SkyRise is easy to install, relatively compact for a rooftop tent, and gives two campers a comfy, elevated sleeping platform that’s well-protected from nasty weather.

    Arc’teryx Rush Jacket

    $489 ($700)

We had to do a double-take when we saw the Arc’teryx Rush Jacket on sale for more than $200 off. This three-layer Gore-Tex shell is lightweight and impressively waterproof, making it solid alpine armor for skiers and snowboarders who spend time on and off piste.

red and orange tent on white background

    MSR Advance Pro 2 Tent

    $560 ($800)

High-alpine, expedition-grade gear typically is accompanied by a high price tag. MSR’s two-person Advance Pro 2 Tent is no exception. The four-season tent has a purposefully petite footprint, as it’s designed to be pitched in the midst of alpine climbs. It includes ultra-tough poles to withstand windy ridgetops and a polyurethane-coated nylon ripstop floor for snow camping. If you’re looking for maximum weatherproofing and savings and a minimal footprint and trail weight, this bargain is hard to beat.

    Jones Hovercraft 2.0

    $630 ($900)

The Jones Hovercraft is so rad, it has a cult following. Don’t believe us? Check out #ihearthovercrafting on Instagram—it’s a rabbit hole that’ll have you dreaming of next winter. The Hovercraft 2.0 splitboard is an updated, backcountry-ready version of the original Hovercraft. Updates include three-dimensional contours to the base for smoother, faster turns; a broader, blunted nose for more float; and a reengineered, channeled tail for better glide.
