Summer vacation may be cooling down, but professional tennis is just heating up: The US Open 2025 officially kicked off on Sunday at the Billie Jean King National Tennis Center in New York City, which means famous tennis fans are flocking in droves to Flushing, Queens.
Of all the Grand Slam tournaments, it’s best to think of the US Open as the funkier, more casual cousin to the stuffier Wimbledon set—and this year, we’ve already seen several notable style moments both on and off the courts. The tournament contestants are making big splashes: Carlos Alcaraz surprised the crowd with his brand-new buzz cut. Venus Williams wore a custom kit designed by the cool Venice Beach brand ERL, complete with a fuzzy shearling-covered tennis racket bag. Novak Djokovic made his grand entrance in a wild custom Lacoste jacket memorializing his Grand Slam prowess.
In the stands, soccer star Trinity Rodman cheered on her tennis-pro boyfriend, Ben Shelton, while wearing a pair of custom “Shelton” sweatpants; elsewhere, former NFL star Victor Cruz wore an Aimé Leon Dore rugby shirt and Wicked star Jeff Goldblum wore a tan suit with Margiela high-top sneakers.
