According to a recent report in The InSneider’s newsletter, Mia is set to enthral fans in the upcoming Star Wars film titled Starfighter.
Although specific plot details remain under wraps, it has been confirmed that Gosling will portray a character tasked with protecting a young individual from a group of sinister forces.
More about Mia Goth’s role in Starfighter
The report further stated that Goth is set to play one of the film’s villains, joining the ranks of those chasing after Gosling’s character and his young charge. Interestingly, the role she has now taken on was previously being considered by actress Mikey Madison. However, that deal reportedly fell apart due to financial disagreements, in a fashion that one insider likened to a Death Star-level explosion.
Star Wars: Starfighter
Star Wars: Starfighter will be a stand-alone instalment in the larger Star Wars universe, deliberately positioned outside the narrative arcs of the Skywalker Saga. That means it will not feature classic characters like Luke or Anakin Skywalker, and won’t be tied directly to previous episodes. The film is set about five years after the events of Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker (2019), exploring a new corner of the galaxy far, far away.
Speaking at the Star Wars Celebration in Japan this past April, Levy emphasised that this new entry is “a stand-alone” story. He clarified that it is “not a prequel, not a sequel,” and described it as “a new adventure” taking place in an unexplored time period in the Star Wars timeline.
