The 2025 college football season is getting closer. Next week, SEC media days are on the docket at the College Football Hall of Fame in Atlanta. All 16 SEC coaches will be there along with three players from their roster.
LSU fans won’t wait long to hear from Brian Kelly and company. The LSU outfit will appear on July 14, day one. Kelly tabbed Garrett Nussmeier, Chris Hilton Jr, and Whit Weeks as LSU’s player representatives. Coaches often prefer to put veterans in front of the camera and that’s what Kelly is doing with Nussmeier and Hilton. Both are preparing for their fifth year at LSU.
Weeks isn’t quite as old as he embarks on his junior campaign, but the linebacker is used to the spotlight after a breakout season in 2024.
Kelly, Nussmeier, Hilton, and Weeks will face plenty of questions about the high expectations for LSU this season. The Tigers are expected to compete for a spot in the playoff after signing the top-ranked transfer portal class.
LSU’s week one battle with Clemson will be a hot topic, too. LSU hasn’t won a season opener since 2019 and a game on the road at Clemson provides another tough kickoff.
