Sa’adu Zungur University (SAZU), Bauchi, has cautioned prospective students and the general public against falling victim to fraudsters who are circulating fake admission letters purportedly from the institution.
In a statement signed by the university’s public relations officer, Auwal Hassan, the management noted that the forged document, titled “Provisional Letter of Admission into Bauchi State University, Gadau, Bauchi State for the 2025/2026 Session”, is being falsely associated with SAZU to mislead unsuspecting applicants.
The university stressed that it remains a distinct institution from Bauchi State University, Gadau (BASUG), and warned that admission into SAZU is processed strictly through the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) Central Admission Processing System (CAPS) and its official portal.
“Sa’adu Zungur University has not released any admission letters for the 2025/2026 academic session outside official channels,” the statement said. “Any demand for payment of fees to unauthorised persons or accounts is fraudulent and should be disregarded.”
The management urged candidates, parents, and guardians to confirm admission offers only through JAMB CAPS or the SAZU Admissions Office and to report suspicious communications or demands for money to security agencies.
Hassan disclosed that the university is working closely with law enforcement to identify and prosecute those behind the fraudulent scheme.
For authentic admission updates, applicants have been directed to the university’s official website, www.sazu.edu.ng.
