When it comes to his personal wardrobe, Robert Pattinson tends to keep a low profile. When RPatz isn’t wearing a glittery skirt or boyish separates to a Dior runway show he’s contractually obligated to attend (the actor’s been the face of its Dior Homme fragrance since 2013), he often blends into his surroundings by donning grubby outerwear, nondescript denim, and trend-defying cargo shorts while hiding his famous face with a disposable surgical mask.
Such was the case earlier this week, when Pattinson accompanied his partner, the musician and actress Suki Waterhouse, to a medical appointment in Los Angeles a day after Waterhouse revealed, on X, that she was suffering from a hernia caused by wearing too-tight pants. (You learn something new every day!) While his lady looked arguably more swaggy than necessary for a doctor’s visit in a Vans T-shirt and a printed trench coat, Pattinson went incognito mode in a black surgical mask, dark shades, maroon sneakers, and a Triumph Motorcycles logo hoodie.
Behold: Robert Pattinson, motopapi.
As it turns out, the UK company Triumph supplied the bike that Pattinson rode in a Dior ad spot earlier this year—a stunt he landed because he already knew how to ride a motorcycle thanks to his role in 2022’s The Batman.
“I learned how to ride a motorcycle for Batman, so when Dior asked if I could ride, I said yeah,” the actor told Vogue in January. “Well, I could sort of ride a motorcycle-ish. But even trying to even start a motorcycle in wet sand is literally impossible. I just thought, ‘I’m going to die on this.’”
Maybe someday RPatz will initiate an off-the-grid linkup with Hollywood’s other A-list, merch-wearing motorcycle enthusiasts, Keanu Reeves and Daniel Day-Lewis. They can ride their bikes in seclusion together.
