Arnaud Kalimuendo is on the verge of completing a big-money move to Premier League side Nottingham Forest. The France youth international won’t play any part in Stade Rennais’ Ligue 1 opener against Olympique de Marseille and has almost certainly played his final game for the club.

Kalimuendo isn’t the only absentee. Jordan James is also expected to leave the club amid advanced talks with Parma. He too will play no part for Rennes against Marseille. Glen Kamara, another player expected to leave, also misses out.

It is expected that there will be competitive debuts for Quentin Merlin and Valentin Rongier, both signed from OM over the summer. Mahdi Camara also joined Rennes, from Stade Brestois, earlier this week, however, he is expected to start on the bench tonight.

Brice Samba; Quentin Merlin, Mikayil Faye, Jérémy Jacquet, Anthony Rouault, Przemyslaw Frankowski; Seko Fofana, Djaoui Cissé, Valentin Rongier; Mohamed Kader Meïté, Musa Al-Taamari. (L’Éq)
