A New England Patriots rookie wide receiver is already concerned about money, but it’s not in the way you would think. Kyle Williams is using it to help improve his game, as noted by WEEI’s Meghan Ottolini.
Williams figures to be a key part of the Patriots’ offensive attack in 2025. The organization remodeled its wide receiver group throughout the offseason. Along with drafting Williams, they also signed Stefon Diggs and Mack Hollins in free agency.
But all eyes are on Williams stepping up and contributing right out of the gate. The former Washington State standout feels the pressure and plans on making the most of his opportunity.
“My mindset is don’t drop the money. Every time the ball is there, it’s a bag of money. We can’t let that hit the floor, because [then] that’s somebody else’s. Just being able to make those plays, just showing that I can compete against those top-tier guys in the league,” Williams said, via Ottolini.
The Patriots have struggled to draft and develop receivers for years. It has long been one of the most criticized positions for the team, even when they were still winning championships.
Williams could be the player to finally break that trend by developing into a top-tier playmaker for the team.
