After eight seasons, Carolina Panthers right tackle Taylor Moton is still standing.

Joe Person of The Athletic recently profiled the 30-year-old Moton in a new article published on Tuesday. He dives into the uncertain future of the veteran hog molly—who, despite the lack of commitment from the Panthers beyond 2025, thinks he still has plenty left to give.

“Looking forward, I do believe I have another contract in me,” Moton stated, via Person. “But right now my focus is on the 2025 season and making sure I do whatever I can to have the best season I can for everybody involved.”

The 2025 campaign is currently the final one on Moton’s contract. When asked about the possibility of extending the former second-round pick back in April, president of football operations and general manager Dan Morgan didn’t give the surest of endorsements.

“Taylor is, obviously, a really good player,” Morgan told reporters following the 2025 NFL draft. “We’re excited about him and this season and from there, we’ll get together and we’ll figure out the future. But right now, we’re focused on the now.”

According to Person, some within the organization have questioned Moton’s ability to stay healthy into his 30s. After playing in every single one of Carolina’s regular-season games from 2017 to 2023, Moton missed two outings in 2024 due to a triceps injury and one to a knee injury.

“It’s chronic stuff. Most linemen deal with it,” Moton said of his knee. “But it’s just figuring out what we can do to make sure it’s limited and I’m still able to explode off it, which right now I can and I feel like I can in the future.”

Moton, who was also limited during this spring’s offseason team activities with a minor pectoral injury, will account for a $31 million cap hit in 2025—the highest of any offensive linemen in the NFL.
