Carolina Panthers right guard Robert Hunt is on the doorstep of some elite company.
ESPN continued their offseason positional rankings this weekend, highlighting the NFL’s best interior offensive linemen on Saturday. And while he didn’t find himself on the top-10 list, Hunt settled in as the very first name on the “Honorable Mention” group.
Senior national NFL Jeremy Fowler pulled the following quote about Hunt from a veteran personnel man:
“Absolute mauler. Better than you think. Downhill, gap scheme, two-back style of run game. As a pass protector, above-average big man, good hands. Can get over-extended because of aggressiveness.”
Hunt joined the Panthers on a five-year, $100 million deal out of free agency in 2024. The pact paid off right away, as the 6-foot-6, 323-pound hog molly was named to the first Pro Bowl of his career.
Per Pro Football Focus, Hunt allowed five sacks over 623 pass-blocking snaps. He was also good enough for a solid 72.0 run-blocking grade.
