Over 60 people, including security personnel, have been killed in a fresh Boko Haram attack on a remote town in northeast Borno State.
Some Boko Haram terrorists launched a deadly attack on Darul Jamal, a volatile town along Banki, in the central part of Borno late Friday.
Survivors said the terrorists started shooting at about 9 p.m., causing pandemonium. The terrorists kept shooting at fleeing residents, killing over 60.
The area is located in Bama Local Government along the border with Cameroon.
Borno State governor, Babagana Zulum, visited the town yesterday afternoon. He appealed to residents to remain resolute, assuring that the government will review the situation to improve the security of the area.
He confirmed 108 families were displaced in the attack, while 63 were killed.
