For the first time in 50 years, Oregon and Northwestern will square off in a football game. The two teams will headline the Noon ET window in Week 3, and the early point spread has been released.
Oregon is a 28.5-point favorite over Northwestern in the matchup, according to BetMGM. The over-under is set at 51.5.
The Ducks and Wildcats have not played each other since 1974 – a 14-10 Northwestern win. This year’s showdown will be on the big stage, though, as FOX’s Big Noon Kickoff will be in attendance. Here’s how to watch.

Oregon entered the 2025 season as one of the more intriguing teams in the Big Ten after winning the conference last year. The Ducks were picked third in the conference’s preseason media poll, and they showed their dominance in Week 2 against Oklahoma State.
Led by quarterback Dante Moore, Oregon got off to a fast start against the Cowboys with a 41-3 halftime lead and extended it to 48-3 in the third quarter before switching quarterbacks. Moore had a huge performance in his two-plus quarters of action, completing 16 of 21 passes for 266 yards and three touchdowns before handing over the keys to Luke Moga.
After his first start in Week 1 against Montana State, Moore said his mindset is simple. He’s trying to go one play at a time and avoid focusing on any mistakes that happen along the way.
“Having that next play focus,” Moore said. “An example was when I got the first down and I was excited and adrenaline was pumping. I was fatigued the next play because I was so tired and lost a lot of energy. And something that, of course, was exciting during the moment, but plays like that would happen, but you got to focus on to the next play.”
As for Northwestern, the Wildcats had another tuneup this week against FCS Western Illinois in Evanston. They cruised to the 42-7 victory behind big games from Preston Stone and Cam Porter. However, Porter suffered an injury in the third quarter of the contest, and coach David Braun said the hope is he would be back “soon.”
“Nothing [to update] as of right now,” Braun said. “He’s one of the toughest, most resilient guys I’ve been around. Staying optimistic that Cam will be back with at full strength sooner [rather] than later.”
