Arkansas redshirt senior wide receiver O’Mega Blake was named to the preseason Fred Biletnikoff Award watch list on Wednesday. The Biletnikoff Award is given annually to college football’s most outstanding wide receiver.
The 6-foot-2, 187-pound transfer from Charlotte had a big season for the 49ers last fall, catching 32 passes for a team-leading 795 yards and ranked second in the American Athletic Conference with nine touchdowns, while also finishing second nationally averaging 24.8 yards per reception.
“You look at his yards per catch last year, that was the first guy I wanted to go get,” Wide receivers coach Fouch said following practice on Monday. “His average per catch was unbelievable and you insert him in Petrino’s offense, I’m excited. He’s going to take off and hopefully have a better year than last year.”
Blake, a Rock Hill, South Carolina, native began his college career in the SEC with the South Carolina Gamecocks and had his best season with them in 2023 when he hauled in 19 receptions for 250 yards and two scores.
