Cardiff City are in talks to sign Chelsea attacking midfielder Omari Kellyman on a season-long loan deal.
The 19-year-old is nearing his return to playing having had corrective surgery on persistent hamstring issues in late March and is willing to drop to League One level to kick-start his career.
Kellyman has been limited to just four appearances in the Under-21s since joining Chelsea in a £19m deal from Aston Villa in 2024. He has also yet to play a single minute of first-team football at Stamford Bridge.
However, he feels League One leaders Cardiff will be a good platform.
The Bluebirds, relegated from the Championship last season, are unbeaten under new head coach Brian Barry-Murphy, who is hoping to make at least two signings on transfer deadline day.
Cardiff have so far only made two additions this summer – goalkeeper Nathan Trott and defender Gabriel Osho – and are looking to strengthen in midfield and defence.
