The North West Youths Consultative Forum has endorsed former Governor of Zamfara State, Senator Abdul’aziz Yari, for the National Chairmanship position of the All Progressives Congress (APC) following the resignation of the immediate past chairman of the party, Dr Abdullahi Umar Ganduje.
The call was made via a statement issued on Saturday by the chairman of the group, Alhaji Shaaya’u Sarkinfawa Talata Mafara.
According to the statement, Senator Yari, representing Zamfara West Senatorial District, deserves to be the next national chairman of the APC, considering his political capacity and experiences.
“The group under my leadership declares Yari to be the next option for the APC based on his capacity to deliver the mandate of the party in the 2027 general elections,” he said.
Sarkinfawa noted that Abdul’aziz Yari deserves to be the national chairman of the APC, being a founding father of the party and former two-term governor of Zamfara.
“Yari, the former Chairman of the Nigerian Governors’ Forum, has the capacity to lead the party based on his exemplified, remarkable, and outstanding leadership abilities,” he stated.
“Our decision to adopt Senator Yari as the next APC National Chairman was based on his track records, credibility, and integrity.
“Our great party, the APC, deserves a leader like Yari who is capable of bringing positive changes for his ideas of democratic development and transformation,” he explained.
“The group, therefore, considers Yari as the best option to lead the party.
“On behalf of various political groups across the country under our platform, we are appealing to our able President Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu to consider the appointment of Alhaji Abdul’aziz Yari as the new leader of our great party,” he added.
