The Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) has confirmed the appointment of two experienced tacticians to lead the nation’s youth teams, ahead of crucial international assignments.
Former U17 World Cup-winning coach Manu Garba returns to the saddle as Head Coach of the Golden Eaglets, Nigeria’s U17 boys team. Garba previously led Nigeria to the FIFA U17 World Cup title in the United Arab Emirates in 2013 and was in charge during the team’s qualification for the 2019 edition in Brazil.
In a parallel development, the NFF has appointed Moses Aduku as Head Coach of the Falconets, Nigeria’s U20 girls team, replacing Chris Danjuma. Aduku brings with him a wealth of experience in the women’s game, having previously coached Bayelsa Queens and Edo Queens, and served as assistant coach when the Falconets reached the quarter-finals of the 2022 FIFA U20 Women’s World Cup in Costa Rica.
Both appointments were approved by the Executive Committee of the NFF following recommendations from the Federation’s Technical and Development Sub-Committee.
The new coaches will officially assume duties on Sunday as preparations begin for upcoming tournaments. The Falconets face Rwanda in September in a 2026 FIFA U20 Women’s World Cup qualifying tie, while the Golden Eaglets will participate in the WAFU B U17 Boys Championship, which Nigeria will host the same month.
