The National Assembly joint committee on Public Account has honoured the Nigerian Ports Authority for commitment to fiscal responsibility and audit compliance.
The NPA was honoured at the grand finale of the National Conference on Public Accounts and Fiscal Governance jointly organized by the Senate and House of Representatives Committees on Public Accounts.
The committee chaired by Senator Aliyu Wadada and Honourable Bamidele Salam, lauded the NPA for maintaining high standards of financial reporting and for demonstrating consistent support for public accountability processes.
According to them, the award is demonstration of institutional integrity, noting that the NPA stood out for its proactive audit compliance and strategic backing of the conference.
The lawmakers, while stating that “the Authority’s contributions were pivotal in making this policy dialogue a reality,” noted, that the NPA’s transparency efforts have become a benchmark in the public sector.
The Managing Director of the NPA, Abubakar Dantosho, who was represented by the Executive Director Finance and Administration, Vivian Richard Edet, reaffirmed the agency’s
commitment to deepening reforms and entrenching openness in its operations.
