Dallas Cowboys wide receiver CeeDee Lamb admitted “it’s gonna be weird” facing off against the Green Bay Packers and linebacker Micah Parsons in Week 4 of the 2025 regular season. Lamb, teammates with Parsons from 2021-25, knows what the All-Pro pass rusher is capable of; he’s hopeful he doesn’t wreck shop on the Cowboys’ offensive line.
“The worst. It’s gonna be weird. It’s gonna be conflicting,” Lamb said Monday, via Jon Machota of The Athletic. “I hope he is not in the backfield in two seconds.”
Parsons, 26, requested out of Dallas after making zero progress on a new deal as he entered the 2025 season set to play on his fifth-year option. The Packers believe Parsons can transform their defense, rewarding him with a four-year, $188 million deal with $136 million guaranteed. Parsons is now the highest-paid non-quarterback in NFL history.
Lamb and Parsons are now NFC rivals. That being said, Lamb is rooting for Parsons in Green Bay.
“Obviously wishing him the best,” Lamb said. “I hope he has the best season ever. He’s Micah Parsons, he’s unblockable. He’s unstoppable.”
Will Micah Parsons play in Week 1?
The Cowboys were hopeful Parsons would be on the field for Thursday’s Week 1 road contest against the Philadelphia Eagles. Obviously, after the trade which sent two first-round picks and three-time Pro Bowl defensive tackle Kenny Clark to Dallas, that won’t be happening.
The Packers, meanwhile, open up the season Sunday against the Detroit Lions. Parsons has been dealing with a back injury, making his status for Week 1 uncertain.
“Packers LB Micah Parsons has been dealing with an L4/L5 facet joint sprain in his back and he may take an epidural injection prior to Sunday’s game vs. the Lions if needed to help him play, per sources,” ESPN‘s Adam Schefter wrote Monday on X. “Before trading Parsons last week, the Cowboys prescribed him a five-day plan of an anti-Inflammatory corticosteroid, a prednisone to help him recover from back tightness.
“They also had him on a physical therapy program. Parsons has been practicing this week, and he is trying to play in Sunday’s opener vs. the Lions, though one source said it still is uncertain if he will.”
