The vibes are extremely positive for Micah Parsons since he joined the Green Bay Packers, but there is one thing he is upset about related to his new team.
After Thursday’s 27-18 win over the Washington Commanders, Parsons told The Athletic’s Matt Schneidman he was “pissed” at himself for not drafting Tucker Kraft for his fantasy team.
“I’m over here pissed I ain’t take him in fantasy,” Parsons said. “That’s the type of s–t I’m talking about, but he’s playing terrific, bro … I think he’s bound to have a breakout year.”
Fantasy managers know all too well the difficulty of trying to find competent play from the tight end position. In recent years, if you didn’t get one of the elite players, like Brock Bowers, Trey McBride or George Kittle, you were scrambling to find production.
Now in his third season, Kraft looks to be establishing himself as someone who belongs in that group. He had first career 100-yard game on Thursday night with 124 yards and a touchdown on six catches against Washington’s defense.
Kraft had a strong 2024 with 707 yards and seven touchdowns. His 14.1 yards per reception was second among all tight ends, trailing only Kittle (14.2).
Because Kraft only caught 50 passes last season, he finished as the No. 10 tight end in fantasy under PPR scoring.
It’s only been two games so far in 2025, but Kraft’s volume with eight catches on 11 targets is an encouraging sign for his long-term outlook. He has been targeted at least four times in each of the first two games.
Last season, Kraft had at least four targets nine times in 17 games. Fans and analysts have been asking who the Packers’ No. 1 receiver is for years now, with the team offering no clear answers.
The receiver room in Green Bay looks even more muddled with Jayden Reed set to miss “a lot of time” after suffering a broken collarbone on Thursday night.
Kraft could end up filling the void as the Packers’ primary pass-catcher based on his results so far this season and how he played in 2024.
Even though Parsons won’t get to reap the benefits of those targets to Kraft on his fantasy team, he will get to enjoy watching opposing defenses try to slow down the 24-year-old for a Packers team that looks like a powerhouse right now.
