    UFC 318 took place Saturday at Smoothie King Center in New Orleans and marked the first time in more than a decade that the octagon has landed in Louisiana.

    The retirement fight of Dustin Poirier (30-10 MMA, 22-9 UFC) was the cause of the event, because “The Diamond” walked away from MMA competition following his unanimous decision defeat to BMF champ Max Holloway (27-8 MMA, 23-8 UFC) in which both men lived up to their reputations.

    Event stats

    The UFC Promotional Guidelines Compliance payout for the event totaled $289,500.

    Brendan Allen, Marvin Vettori, Ateba Gautier, Islam Dulatov and Carli Judice earned $50,000 UFC 318 fight-night bonuses.

    Debuting fighters went 1-1 on the card.

    UFC 318 drew an announced attendance of 18,138 for a live gate of $8,088,122.

    Betting favorites went 9-5 on the card.

    Betting favorites improved to 15-9 in UFC headliners this year.

    Total fight time for the 14-bout card was 2:37:50.

    Max Holloway def. Dustin Poirier

    Holloway became the first in UFC history to defend the BMF title.

    Holloway improved to 2-1 in UFC lightweight competition.

    Holloway’s total fight time of 8:27:43 in UFC competition is second-most in company history behind Rafael dos Anjos (8:43:19).

    Holloway’s 23 victories in UFC competition are tied with Charles Oliveira, Andrei Arlovski and Donald Cerrone for second-most in company history behind Jim Miller (27).

    Holloway has landed 100 or more significant strikes in 17 separate UFC fights, the most in company history. No other fighter has more than 10 such performances, with Sean Strickland rankings second at nine.

    Holloway has landed 3,655 significant strikes in UFC competition, the most in company history.

    Holloway has landed 3,907 total strikes in UFC competition are most in company history.

    Holloway has absorbed 2,407 significant strikes in UFC competition, the most in company history.

    Poirier retired from MMA after his loss.

    Poirier fell to 14-6 (with one no contest) since he moved up to the UFC lightweight division in April 2015.

    Paulo Costa def. Roman Kopylov

    Paulo Costa (15-4 MMA, 7-4 UFC) has earned his past three victories by decision after his previous 12 wins came by stoppage.

    Roman Kopylov (14-4 MMA, 6-4 UFC) fell to 6-4 in his past 10 fights after starting his career 8-0.

    Daniel Rodriguez def. Kevin Holland

    Daniel Rodriguez (20-5 MMA, 10-4 UFC) has earned six of his 10 UFC victories by decision.

    Kevin Holland (28-14 MMA, 15-11 UFC) fell to 6-4 since he dropped to the UFC welterweight division in March 2022.

    Holland has suffered seven of his 13 career losses by decision.

    Holloway was knocked down for the first time in his 28-fight UFC career.

    Patricio Freire def. Dan Ige

    Patricio Freire (37-8 MMA, 1-1 UFC) improved to 1-1 in the UFC after a decorated career with Bellator where he was a two-division and multi-time champion.

    Dan Ige (19-10 MMA, 11-9 UFC) has suffered all 10 of his career losses by decision.

    Michael Johnson vs. Daniel Zellhuber

    Michael Johnson (24-19 MMA, 16-15 UFC) improved to 5-5 since he returned to the lightweight division in October 2019.

    Johnson’s 13 knockdowns landed in UFC lightweight competition are tied with Melvin Guillard for most in divisional history.

    Johnson has earned 10 of his 16 UFC victories by decision.

    Daniel Zellhuber (15-3 MMA, 3-3 UFC) has suffered all three of his career losses by decision.

    Vinicius Oliveira def. Kyler Phillips

    Kyler Phillips (12-4 MMA, 6-3 UFC) has suffered all three of his UFC losses by decision.

    Brendan Allen def. Marvin Vettori

    Marvin Vettori’s (19-9-1 MMA, 9-7-1 UFC) three-fight losing skid is the longest of his career. He hasn’t earned a victory since March 2023.

    Vettori has suffered all nine of his career losses by decision.

    Vettori had his fifth performance of 100 or more significant strikes landed in UFC middleweight competition, the second-most in divisional history behind Sean Strickland (eight).

    Nikolay Veretennikov def. Francisco Prado

    Francisco Prado’s (12-4 MMA, 1-4 UFC) three-fight losing skid is the longest of his career. He hasn’t earned a victory since July 2023.

    Prado has suffered all four of his career losses by decision.

    Ateba Gautier def. Robert Valentin

    Ateba Gautier (8-1 MMA, 2-0 UFC) has earned seven of his eight career victories by stoppage.

    Robert Valentin’s (10-6 MMA, 0-3 UFC) three-fight losing skid is the longest of his career. He hasn’t earned a victory since December 2023.

    Valentin has suffered four of his six career losses by stoppage.

    Islam Dulatov def. Adam Fugitt

    Islam Dulatov (12-1 MMA, 1-0 UFC) has earned all 12 of his career victories by stoppage.

    Jimmy Crute def. Marcin Prachnio

    Jimmy Crute (13-5-2 MMA, 5-4-2 UFC) snapped his five-fight winless skid for his first victory since October 2020.

    Crute has earned all five of his UFC victories by stoppage.

    Ryan Spann def. Lukasz Brzeski

    Ryan Spann (23-11 MMA, 9-6 UFC) improved to 1-1 since he moved up to the UFC heavyweight division in March 2025.

    Spann has earned 20 of his 23 career victories by stoppage.

    Lukasz Brzeski (9-7-1 MMA, 1-6 UFC) has just one victory in his past eight fights dating back to Sept. 2021.

    Brzeski has suffered five of his seven career losses by stoppage.

    Brzeski suffered the first submission loss of his career.

    Brunno Ferreira def. Jackson McVey

    Brunno Ferreira (14-2 MMA, 5-2 UFC) has earned all five of his UFC victories by stoppage.

    Jackson McVey (6-1 MMA, 0-1 UFC) had his six-fight winning streak snapped for the first defeat of his career.

    Carli Judice def. Nicolle Caliari

    Carli Judice (5-2 MMA, 2-1 UFC) has earned all five of her career victories by knockout.

    Judice became the first female in UFC history to earn knockout victories stemming from a knee and from a kick.

    Nicolle Caliari (8-4 MMA, 0-2 UFC) suffered the first knockout loss of her career.
