Former NFL quarterback Mark Sanchez was stabbed on Saturday morning in downtown Indianapolis and is currently hospitalized in critical condition, authorities confirmed.
Fox Sports, where Sanchez currently works as a broadcaster, released a statement mentioning that he is “recovering in stable condition” and expressed gratitude to the medical team for their care.

The Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department responded to a call about a “disturbance in an alley” around 12.30 am near West Washington Street and North Senate Avenue. Upon arrival, officers found Sanchez injured outside a local pub, along with another person who also suffered injuries. Police have detained a suspect in connection with the incident.
Sanchez, 38, was immediately taken to a nearby hospital. Sanchez was in Indianapolis to cover the upcoming Colts vs. Raiders game at Lucas Oil Stadium, part of his ongoing work as a sports analyst.
