Veteran safety Marcus Epps is signing with the Eagles according to Tom Pelissero
The Eagles are a week away from opening the season against Dallas, and they brought back a familiar face in safety Marcus Epps. After getting cut by the Patriots, the talented defensive back is signing with Philadelphia, according to Tom Pelissero.
Epps tore his ACL in late September of last season and missed the Raiders‘ final 14 games in 2024, forcing him to be limited to begin voluntary OTAs in New England this spring. The 29-year-old inked a one-year deal with the Patriots in March after posting 85 total tackles, three passes defended, and one forced fumble over 20 games with the Raiders from 2023 to 2024.
Epps played for Philadelphia from 2019 to 2022 and started in the 38-35 Super Bowl LVII loss to the Kansas City Chiefs. Epps will join a safety group that includes Reed Blankenship, Sydney Brown, and second-round pick Andrew Mukuba.
