A man has been arrested after an incident at Sydney airport this morning that involved a police firearm being discharged inside the T2 domestic terminal.
An Australian federal police spokesperson said the agency has launched an investigation into the incident and a crime scene had been established. There was no ongoing threat to the public.
An airport spokesperson said there were no injuries, and said the facility was operating as normal after the incident was resolved.
“Sydney airport is currently assisting Australian federal police following an incident earlier this morning,” the spokesperson said.
“No injuries occurred as a result of the incident. An arrest has been made and the airport is operating normally.”
