The MetLife Stadium turf has become fairly notorious at this point, with a number of high-profile players suffering serious injuries on the playing surface in recent years.

Malik Nabers became the latest star to go down on the turf Sunday, joining a group that also includes players like Aaron Rodgers and Nick Bosa dating back to 2020 alone:

Former Giants’ star Odell Beckham Jr. basically pleaded with the NFL to address the stadium’s playing surface after the Nabers injury on Sunday:

According to Michael Middlehurst-Schwartz of USA Today, the stadium put in a “multi-layered, dual-polymer monofilament fiber called the FieldTurf CORE system” in 2023 to “provide better stability.”

Given the high-profile injuries that have continued to take place on the surface, however, it’s fair to question if MetLife Stadium currently has a surface truly suitable for NFL games.
