“The bayou docent rendezvoused in France while dripped out in Valentino” might sound like an overbaked Riff Raff lyric, but it was actually the reality at Paris Fashion Week on Sunday, when Jeremy Dufrene, the generally low-key husband of Lana Del Rey, accompanied his pop star wife to the maison’s spring 2026 fashion show.
In his daily life, Dufrene is a boat captain who leads guided tours through the alligator-filled bayous of southern Louisiana. (The duo first met in March 2019 when Del Rey attended one of his swamp tours; they reconnected years later and married in September 2024.) So it was fitting that even for the glitzy occasion, he wore what has to be the most tactical-looking ensemble in Valentino’s arsenal: a multi-pocketed denim “Safari” jacket and matching center-creased navy trousers, which appeared to have been tapered from their original flared silhouette. He accessorized with square-toed Western boots, a nautical anchor necklace, and his own mirror-lensed Costa Del Mar sunglasses worn flipped upside-down on the brim of a “Chez Valentino” baseball cap. He looked very much like himself—a truly impressive feat by whoever on Valentino’s VIP PR team coordinated his outfit.

In his dressed-up, dressed-down look, Dufrene was the Justin to Del Rey’s Hailey. Lana, a longtime muse of Valentino’s creative director Alessandro Michele, looked characteristically glamorous in a dusky purple gown with feather-trimmed off-the-shoulder sleeves, white heels, and a beaded shoulder bag. Inside the venue, the singer and the boat captain smooched in the front row.

Speaking to W in August, Del Rey detailed her and Dufrene’s romance: “When we met,” she said, “I realized pretty immediately that I loved him, but that it might get difficult because of what I was bringing to the table. Jeremy said, ‘I work with alligators—I have tough skin.’ And he is a man of his word. All the things that made me upset—and there were so many!—he would just listen and say, ‘You be you—and I’ll just love you more.’”
Thankfully, for his fashion week debut, he appeared to take his own advice.
