A high-powered delegation from Kwande Local Government Area (LGA) of Benue State has declared unwavering support for President Bola Tinubu’s reelection in 2027, while expressing profound appreciation for the transformative impact of Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF), George Akume.
During a courtesy visit to Akume at his Maitama residence in Abuja, the delegation led by Terlumun Akputu, comprising leaders across party lines—commended the SGF’s “continued commitment to the development of Benue State and his role in advancing the interests of the Tiv nation in particular and Benue State in general at the federal level.”
According to a statement issued by Special Adviser on Public Affairs, Office of the Secretary to Government of the Federation, Terrence Kuanum, speaking at the event, Vincent Uji, lauded President Tinubu’s governance ethos, stating, “The people of Kwande LGA have witnessed renewed hope under his Renewed Hope Agenda.” Uji also highlighted ongoing federal initiatives and critical infrastructure projects in Benue State, attributing many of them to Akume’s dedication.
“The unity and resolve demonstrated by the Kwande people are clear indications of their political alignment with the current administration,” Uji noted, emphasising that support for President Tinubu would only grow stronger ahead of the 2027 elections. He urged other communities in Benue to follow the Kwande example to ensure the All Progressives Congress (APC) remains the region’s dominant force.
Akume in his remarks expressed deep gratitude for the delegation’s show of support, calling the visit “timely and encouraging,” particularly as President Tinubu’s government intensifies efforts to deliver on its promises.
The SGF reaffirmed his commitment to securing more developmental projects and policies for Benue State under the Renewed Hope Agenda, assuring the visitors, “With your continued support, we will consolidate on our gains and ensure that the dividends of democracy are felt in every corner of our dear state.”
Akume praised Tinubu’s leadership as “inclusive, visionary, and deeply rooted in national unity and economic transformation,” and called on all political leaders and traditional institutions in Benue to promote “a political culture anchored on progress, development, and service to the people.”
“The show of unity you’ve displayed today gives me great confidence that Benue is on the path of renewal,” Senator Akume said.
The meeting concluded with prayers for President Tinubu, Akume, the Tiv nation, and for the continued prosperity of Benue State and Nigeria as a whole.
