UFC bantamweight champion Kayla Harrison has something in store for the promotion’s White House event next summer.

Harrison (19-1 MMA, 3-0 UFC) was recently in Washington D.C. alongside UFC CEO Dana White, who was there to figure out logistics for the event that is expected to take place on the south lawn of the White House.

Harrison, the promotion’s only current American champion, fully expects to compete on that card. But before that, the two-time Olympic gold medalist judoka is prepping to face Amanda Nunes (23-5 MMA, 16-2 UFC) for her first title defense.

“We’re going to find out real soon when that fight is going to be,” Harrison told ESPN of Nunes. “Then after I whoop up on Amanda, I’m going to fight hopefully someone in particular at the White House, and I think it’s going to really play out nicely. It’s going to be sick.”

    Who is Harrison talking about?

“I can’t say yet,” Harrison responded. “Because it’s not all in my control. So, some things have to happen in order for this plan to happen, if that makes sense. You’ve got to be in the right time, right place. Give it time, let it simmer.”

Could Harrison be talking about fellow Olympic judoka and former UFC bantamweight champion Ronda Rousey? If that’s what she’s hoping for, “Rowdy” recently shut down that possibility.

“I am not fighting at the White House,” Rousey said on “The Lapsed Fan Podcast.” “I mean, after Mike Tyson being the biggest fight of the year (vs. Jake Paul), you never say never, but I ain’t fighting on the f*cking White House. I’ve got better sh*t to do. My kid needs pasta.”

With Nunes’ dominance as a former UFC dual-champion, Harrison was asked if she thinks an immediate rematch is a possibility.

“I think that I would totally welcome that, but I don’t think that she’s going to want to fight me again,” Harrison said. “But I would be fine with that.”
