Katie Taylor and Amanda Serrano stood toe-to-toe once more before their historic trilogy fight.
Friday at Madison Square Garden in New York, Taylor and Serrano will meet for the third time in the headlining fight of Most Valuable Promotions’ all-women’s boxing event streaming live on Netflix. Prior to meeting in the ring once more, the two boxers got up close to share another intense staredown at ceremonial weigh-ins.
Considering their history and familiarity, the two kept things professional and even shared a hug.
Taylor, 39, the undisputed super lightweight titleholder, puts her belts on the line against Serrano, 36. Taylor won the first two meetings. The first fight took place in 2022 at the same venue in New York, which Taylor won by split decision. Last November, Taylor won the rematch by unanimous decision at AT&T Stadium, home of the NFL’s Dallas Cowboys in Arlington, Texas. However, the second fight had its share of controversy, leading to the highly anticipated third fight.
