Karuppu, starring Suriya in the lead is one of the most films of in Tamil cinema. While the film missed the big Diwali slot, the excitement around it continues to be sky-high. In a recent event, the film’s director RJ Balaji, has dropped some interesting updates about the action drama.
Karuppu: Suriya’s Film Gets A Massive Update From RJ Balaji
At a recent event, Karuppu’s director RJ Balaji shared a few details about his upcoming film with Suriya. The filmmaker revealed that he planned it as a Diwali release initially. “The film is almost done. I have watched it after editing. If we give it a lot of build-up about it now, I don’t want to say more,” he said. The filmmaker also stated, “My producers SR Prabhu and SR Prakash Babu watch films with greater attention and they expressed their satisfaction with it. I think the film has come out well.”
However, when anchors asked him further, RJ Balaji confirmed that he plays a cameo role in the film. The actor-director appears in a scene, which is part of the teaser of Karuppu, where Suriya tells his character, “Baby, daddy is home.” The film brings Suriya and RJ Balaji back on screen after 2018’s Thaanaa Serndha Koottam.

Recently, Sshivada, who is part of the film said in an interview to Cinema Vikatan, she said, “I’ve always dreamed of working with Suriya sir, and now that dream has finally come true. I also had the opportunity to work with Trisha ma’am, and it was a truly wonderful experience. We’ve all admired Suriya, Jyotika, and Trisha on the big screen, but meeting them in person was even more special. The warmth with which they welcome you and make you feel at home is truly heart-touching. They’re such admirable people, and I’m eagerly looking forward to the film’s release.”
Produced by Dream Warrior Pictures’ SR Prakash Babu and SR Prabhu, Karuppu also stars Trisha, Sshivada Indrans, Mansoor Ali Khan, Natty, Swaswika, Anagha Maya Ravi, Supreeth Reddy, among others.
