But for his press appearance on the show, Elordi thankfully did not arrive on set in his monster beat. Instead, he opted for a casually spooky, conspicuously thematic look: a crewneck sweater printed with a profile view of Frankenstein’s monster in James Whale’s 1931 film, electrodes jutting out, from designer Christopher Kane’s 2013 collection of monster-themed wearables. (The collection also featured printed stills from Dracula and Creature from the Black Lagoon.) Given the actor’s above-average wingspan, the archival sweater’s sleeves had a somewhat cropped fit, their hems landing around his mid-forearm—but there’s something charming about that borrowed-from-the-girls feel. He completed the look with dark denim and leather loafers from The Row.
Throughout Frankenstein’s press tour, Elordi and his longtime stylists, Wendi and Nicole Ferreira, have taken a verdant method-dressing approach to his wardrobe. For an appearance at the Newport Beach Film Festival last week, he wore a snazzy, Stanley Ipkiss-adjacent green suit by Celine, which invoked the Creature’s viridescent flesh. Elordi has also leveraged his Cartier partnership to benefit his green agenda, donning a rare Tank à Guichets with a mossy leather strap at the monster flick’s Paris premiere and an emerald-faced Tank Louis Cartier at the BFI London Film Festival earlier this month.
