The Suryakumar Yadav-led team won the continental showpiece tournament for the ninth time in history. The Men in Blue have also become the first team to clinch the tournament in the T20 format twice, having also won the inaugural edition in 2016. The Men in Blue won the tournament unbeaten with seven wins in as many games, including one in the super over. India played Pakistan thrice and beat them on all three occasions.
This was the first multi-national tournament that Suryakumar led India after replacing Rohit Sharma as the captain of the T20I team post the 2024 T20 World Cup victory.
However, the 35-year-old had a poor run with the bat, with just 72 runs in six innings at an average of 18, with a highest score of 47.
Talking about the match, India won by five wickets in a last-over thriller with Tilak Varma being the star of the show with 69 runs in 53 balls. Earlier, Kuldeep Yadav took a four-wicket haul.
