A non-governmental group, Bridge Connect Africa Initiative (BCAI) has announced plans to support additional 50 survivors of Gender Based Violence (GBV) across targeted communities in Kano State.

The Executive Director of the Initiative, Sani Mohammed announced this during a press conference held in the state, saying the latest intervention was a key aspect of the 2nd phase of the Women against Violence Empowered through Sustainability Project (WAVES).

According to him, the additional 50 women survivors would receive sector – specific agro-business coaching, training in access to circular economy as well as benefit from market mentorship tailored to their enterprise needs.

Sani added that, “More than skill building, the new initiative integrates policy and community advocacy in its design” while adding that,”Over the next months the program will introduce them to a flexible learning and monitoring model that will allow them to reflect, share progress and co-lead community based solutions”.

He expressed depp gratitude to their partners and shareholders and thanked the Kano State for their support even as he called for support from other institutions that share in their vision. End .0
