The centre-back spent the second half of last season on loan at Bramall Lane, so a return to the club makes sense. He still has a year remaining on his Selhurst Park contract but he has only ever made one appearance for the club.

Having spent the second half of last season getting relegated from the Premier League on loan at Leicester, Facundo Buonanotte could find a change of pace and scenery at Borussia Dortmund.
