Gallimore signed with the Colts earlier this offseason to a one-year, $1.17 million deal.
What to know about Colts’ DT Neville Gallimore
Gallimore was a third-round pick by Dallas in 2020 and played his first four seasons there before joining the LA Rams last year.
He finished the 2024 season with six pressures, 22 total tackles, and four run stops. The majority of Gallimore’s snaps came against the run, according to PFF’s tracking data.
Out of 120 defensive tackles last season, Gallimore ranked 51st in pass rush productivity. He was also 133rd in PFF’s run stop rate.
However, while the overall numbers won’t leap off the stat sheet, Gallimore did showcase his playmaking potential in the playoffs, where he recorded three sacks and five run stops over just 45 snaps.
“You do what’s asked of you, and sometimes you’ve got to be a jack of all trades,” Gallimore said in his introductory press conference. “And I feel like what I brought in the playoffs, I’m looking to expand on that, to bring that coming out through the start of the season, and to carry it forward. I was given an opportunity to contribute and make impactful plays, and that’s what I’m looking forward to doing here.”
Where does Neville Gallimore fit on the Colts’ roster?
With the Colts, Gallimore can hopefully provide improved play on the depth chart behind DeForest Buckner and Grover Stewart–something that Indianapolis very much needs.
Gallimore will be competing for playing time with Tim Smith, Adetomiwa Adebawore, Eric Johnson, and others.
Of note, at least from a contract perspective, Gallimore is not a roster lock to make this team. If released, he leaves behind a dead cap hit of only $482,500. But one big advantage he has over the other players mentioned is experience.
