Defender Eoghan O’Connell and Wrexham have parted company by mutual consent.
The 30-year-old is one of just 10 players who played a part in each of the north Wales side’s three successive promotions to reach the Championship – scoring on his debut in January 2023 at Altrincham.
Irishman O’Connell had joined Wrexham from Charlton Athletic four days earlier. He made 15 appearances after the move, 33 more in 2023-24 and a further 41 as Phil Parkinson guided them to English football’s second tier.
Parkinson said: “I’d like to thank Eoghan for his contributions over the last two-and-a-half years, playing a part in all three of our promotions.
“We thought he had a move prior to the transfer window closing, but it didn’t materialise in time, and Eoghan has decided to part ways so he can look for the next challenge in his career. We all wish him well.”
