The Pittsburgh Steelers face off against the New York Jets this week, and the Steelers are hoping to get off to a strong start. The Steelers have been dealing with some minor injuries throughout training camp and the preseason, but for the most part, this team is healthy heading into Week One.
The Steelers announced the inactives for this week’s game, and there were really only a couple of surprises. First was that backup edge defender Nick Herbig would be inactive. Herbig has been dealing with an injury, but after the team opted to call up cornerback James Pierre from the practice squad over edge defender DeMarvin Leal, we assumed that was a sign Herbig was healthy. This means a heavier workload for rookie edge Jack Sawyer
As expected, Steelers rookie defensive tackle Derrick Harmon is inactive with a knee injury, so fellow rookie Yahya Black should see more reps as well.
