The key contest in Bihar is between the ruling National Democratic Alliance (NDA) and the Opposition-led Mahagathbandhan. There is also a third front this time, led by political strategist-turned-politician Prashant Kishor, whose Jan Suraaj Party (JSP) is making its electoral debut by contesting all 243 seats.
The NDA in Bihar comprises parties including the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), Janata Dal (United), Lok Janshakti Party (LJP), Hindustan Awami Morcha (HAM), and RLM.
The Mahagathbandhan is led by the Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD), Congress, Vikassheel Insan Party (VIP), Asaduddin Owaisi’s AIMIM, CPI, CPI-M, and other Left parties.
