A current Chelsea player has been spotted wearing a classic Didier Drogba Chelsea shirt whilst on holiday this week!
The Blues will be back in training today, but before that they have all been able to finally enjoy a little bit of time off after winning the Club World Cup and having to play extra games at the end of the season.
It was great for them though because obviously they were crowned World Champions and it was really good for the players and for the club and marked a bit of a turn around from recent fortunes at Chelsea.
The new owners won their first silverware at the club at the end of last season in the shape of The Conference League and of course, The Club World Cup. So it was a great end to the season for the, for the players, and for Enzo Maresca as head coach.
They certainly all fully deserved the break that they finally got and the holidays that many of them have been enjoying for the last few weeks.
But today it is back down to business with the players due at Cobham to begin preseason and the hard work really does start again.
As you can see above, defender Marc Cucurella has taken a nod towards Chelsea legend Didier Drogba by sporting a classic Drogba number 11 shirt whilst on his holiday last week.
I do love seeing this kind of thing, it’s a way of the current players acknowledging the great history of this club and some of the top players that came before them.
Didier Drogba will go down as one of the best ever strikers that have played for Chelsea. He’s a true club legend and fans will forever love him.
