Charley Hull has withdrawn from the Amundi Evian Championship after a series of alarming events. After sitting down by a bunker on the third hole clearly looking unwell, Hull collapsed on the fourth tee.
Golf Channel reported that after a 15-minute medical break, 29-year-old Hull hit her tee shot and then collapsed again. She was then carted off on a medical cart. Broadcast host Richard Kaufman said they had since learned Hull had been suffering from a virus and it all caught up with her.
“Obviously a very unnerving situation for Charley ad her playing partners,” said Kaufman.
Hull, currently No. 19 in the world, placed T-12 in her last two starts on the LPGA – both major championships – and finished fourth last week at the KPMG Women’s Irish Open.
Hull’s best finish at the Evian is a share of third in 2022.
