The Philadelphia 76ers will head ingo the 2025-26 season looking to bounce back from a miserable 24-58 season the previous year. Expected to contend for a championship, injuries decimated the roster and the Sixers didn’t have much of a chance to win much of anything as their focus turned to development.
President of Basketball Operations Daryl Morey has since brought in some youngsters to help the roster get through the grind of an 82-game season and get them to the playoffs. The hope is that Joel Embiid and Paul George will be healthier to help Tyrese Maxey get the Sixers back into contention in what should be a wide-open Eastern Conference.
In terms of their chances at winning the championship, FanDuel’s betting odds for the NBA has put the Sixers at +4000 to win it all.
In the Eastern Conference specifically, the Sixers are behind the New York Knicks, Cleveland Cavaliers, Orlando Magic, Atlanta Hawks, and Detroit Pistons in terms of championship odds for teams in the East.
Everything the Sixers do will come down to the health of Embiid and George. Those two will need to be healthy and ready to go in order to help Maxey get the job done on the floor and get Philadelphia back into contention. Whether they can be injury-free remains to be seen.
