Historically, few men have done big coats as well as Oasis frontman Liam Gallagher. But then you see a great jacket on someone like English actor Callum Turner, and it becomes clear that one guy does not have a monopoly on the classic parka.
While taking a break from filming in New York City (coffee in one hand, banana in the other, because potassium is important), Turner was spotted in a coat that ticked every Gallagher box: dark green, big-ass pockets, and enough insulation to survive even the wettest of Mancunian winters. But unlike said parkas, which tend to go for long hems, even longer drawstrings, and that lovably scruffy Britpop vibe, Turner’s take feels distinctly neo-Gallagher. That’s because it’s by Canada Goose—the undisputed master brand of very serious winter coats.
Released as part of the label’s latest drop, the Maitland soups up Canada Goose’s classic parka silhouette. Cut from a cotton nylon canvas, it’s kitted out with six pockets, backpack straps for easy carrying, and a shape that manages to look both structured and relaxed at the same time. Turner’s version comes in the shade “military green,” a hue not unlike Gallagher’s own Ten C anorak that he wore back in July.
