Caio Borralho sees GOLDEN opportunity vs. Nassourdine Imavov
Caio Borralho speaks with MMA Junkie Radio to preview the fight, offer his thoughts on Khamzat Chimaev as middleweight champion, and more.
Caio Borralho is confident he’ll be the one to crack the Khamzat Chimaev code.
Chimaev (15-0 MMA, 9-0 UFC) continued his dominance in the octagon when he scored a lopsided win over Dricus Du Plessis to claim the middleweight title at UFC 319 last month. His ground game proved to be unstoppable, and many are wondering who can beat Chimaev.
Borralho (17-1 MMA, 7-0 UFC), who has trained with Chimaev before, said he has the key.
“For sure, I’m happy that he’s the champion because if people are saying he’s like unbeatable, imagine how good it will be when someone beats him, and this guy is me,” Borralho told MMA Junkie Radio. “So, definitely a good place to be right now. I feel very happy for him as a champion. He deserves that. He worked very hard for that. We’re actually a little bit close because I’ve been part of his training camp.
“So, definitely very happy for the guy, but I’m willing to go there and do the business and face him. I just need to come here on Saturday, do a great performance, then after that go for the belt. As a matter of holes in his game, I think it’s about your next fight. His system can deny all the steps that he needs you to take, and then you kind of frustrate him during that, and put him in your game plan and then start to pick him up. So, yeah, that’s it.”
Borralho will look to emerge as the next title challenger when he takes on Nassourdine Imavov (16-4 MMA, 8-2 UFC) in Saturday’s UFC Fight Night 258 (ESPN+) main event at Accor Arena in Paris.
