Nicolas Jackson to Bayern Munich was dead in the water after the Bundesliga side pulled out of the loan deal that was agreed then scuppered by Chelsea, but it sounds like we might get a new deal agreed here in the final few hours of the transfer window.
The Telegraph, among others, are reporting that talks over a loan with an obligation are not only ongoing, but “going well” and with “positivity [that] a deal can be struck”. There’s no word on what the financials might involved, but the previous loan deal included a €15m fee and an €80m option. It seems unlikely that we would hit the latter number in any sort of obligation, but we’ll have to wait and see.
Thankfully, it sounds like Jackson had remained in Munich throughout the whole weekend, so if a deal can be agreed, he should be able to get it finalized.
“Nico was ready. Bayern was ready. We were all aligned on a world-class project. For the agreement to be withdrawn at the final moment is deeply frustrating. But we won’t give up”.
“I will fight with everything I have to make sure Nico’s next step reflects his talent, ambition, and the plan we built together. We hope that Chelsea can cover Liam Delap’s unfortunate injury.”

The Bundesliga transfer window slams shut at the same time as the Premier League one (8pm CEST; 7pm BST), so there are four and a half hours to go.
