Stakeholders of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Nasarawa North Senatorial District have endorsed President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s re-election bid for 2027, while unanimously urging Governor Abdullahi Sule to contest the Senate seat to represent the zone in the same election year.
The endorsement was made at a high-level stakeholders’ meeting held in Akwanga Local Government Area on Sunday, where party leaders and supporters from the three LGAs in the zone—Akwanga, Wamba, and Nasarawa Eggon—converged to deliberate on the political direction and unity of the party ahead of 2027.
Reading the communiqué at the end of the meeting, a former Secretary to the Nasarawa State Government, Hon. Timothy Anjide, said the stakeholders acknowledged the developmental strides of both President Tinubu and Governor Sule and passed a vote of confidence in their leadership.
“In recognition of his vision and leadership, the stakeholders unanimously endorsed Mr. President for a second term in office,” Anjide stated.
“A unanimous call was made on His Excellency, Engr. Abdullahi Sule, to represent the good people of Nasarawa North in the Senate come 2027,” he added.
The meeting, jointly convened by the chairmen of the three local councils, was tagged “Unity, Progress, and Consolidation for Greater Service.” The stakeholders also resolved to strengthen the APC at all levels by prioritising discipline, inclusion, and grassroots mobilisation across the zone.
While applauding President Tinubu for appointing sons and daughters of the zone into key federal boards, agencies, and parastatals, the stakeholders pledged continued support for his administration.
Speaking with journalists after the meeting, Chairman of Akwanga LGA and State Chairman of ALGON, Hon. Safiyanu Isa Andaha, said the gathering reaffirmed the party’s unity and charted a strategic political path for 2027.
“There was a unanimous agreement that His Excellency, Governor Abdullahi Sule, should contest for Senate in 2027,” Andaha said.
“Being a democrat, I am confident that our Governor will heed the voices of his people and accept this call to service,” he added.
According to Andaha, the meeting also sought to mend internal grievances and reinforce the spirit of togetherness within the APC family in the district.
“For the interest of the party, we must keep all grievances aside and work together as one,” he emphasised.
The meeting concluded on a note of renewed hope, shared vision, and collective resolve to uphold the ideals of the APC in Nasarawa North and beyond.
