Nigerians and Ghanaians from around the world are set to converge in Abuja, the Federal Capital Territory of Nigeria, for the 10th edition of the Ghana-Nigeria Leadership Summit and Achievers Award.
The event, which has been in existence since 2016, aims to promote African integration by providing a platform for citizens of both countries to come together and discuss issues affecting the continent.
The summit, which will be held on Thursday, September 4, will feature high-profile speakers and guests, including Mahama Ayariga, the Majority Leader of the Ghanaian parliament, who will speak on the role of parliament in ensuring open borders as a pathway to African integration.
The special guests of honour at the event will be Mrs Gloria Diri, wife of the Bayelsa State governor, the Ghana High Commissioner in Abuja, the Nigerian High Commissioner in Accra, and officials of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Abuja.
According to the convener, Comrade Barry Ndu Nwaihim, all necessary arrangements have been made to celebrate the 10th anniversary of the summit in grand style.
Nwaihim disclosed that several dignitaries are expected to attend, including Linda Obenewaa Ocloo, the Greater Accra Regional Minister, and Tina Ohaa, founder of Tynachiomaa Charitable Foundation, Samuel Chukwuma Orakoosim, CEO of Samchuks Global Ghana Ltd, Mrs Alisa Osei Asamoah, CEO of Riali Consult, and Rita Orji, a member of Nigeria’s 8th National Assembly House of Representatives.
The event will kick off with a red carpet ceremony at 4 p.m., with the theme of the summit, “Bridging borders, rewarding excellence: Sustaining the diplomatic relationship between Ghana and Nigeria”.
