Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback Aaron Rodgers isn’t going to lose too much sleep over Sunday’s 31-17 loss against the Seattle Seahawks.

“It’s Week 2. It’s good for us,” he told reporters. “Last week, probably there were some people who were feeling pretty good because everyone outside the building is talking about how great we were on offense and 34 points. That’s the league. You can’t ride the highs and ride the lows.”

The Pittsburgh offense looked like a revelation in Week 1 as Rodgers threw for four touchdowns, didn’t turn the ball over and led the Steelers to a 34-32 win over the New York Jets.

But it was perhaps a touch of fool’s gold against a mediocre New York defense. Week 2 offered a more realistic look at the state of Pittsburgh’s offense, as Rodgers finished 18-of-33 for 203 yards, a touchdown and two interceptions, taking three sacks.

The Seahawks also bottled up the run game, holding the Steelers to just 73 yards on the ground. Those struggles are an early theme—the Steelers only rushed for 53 yards in Week 1.

The Steelers had a lot of offensive turnover this offseason, so there is plenty of season left for Rodgers and his weapons to jell. But Sunday’s performance felt like a step in the wrong direction after a promising start.
